We are always happy to hear from talented and motivated Interns. As an intern at Betadwarf, it will be your job to work closely with the existing team to help create high quality content. We are looking for someone who longs to be part of a highly creative workflow and wants to take their craft to the next level. We treat our interns as regulars on the team from the get go, you will be doing real work that has a high likelihood of ending up in game. As such, we hold our interns to the same high standards as everyone else in the company, so it's important that you are passionate about working on games.

Software Engineer

Job Description

As a Software Engineer you will report directly to the CTO and work in a small close-knit team where your main responsibility will be to find, discuss and construct the multitude of solutions needed to make our most ambitious project; Project F4E a reality. It is a cross platform, co-op, PvE, GaaS title that focuses on forming friendships without compromising a great gaming experience.

Ideally you are driven, self-motivated and not afraid to express your opinions or come with suggestions for improvements. You must be ready to take responsibility and identify areas that could benefit from your talents. We want you to make your mark on our world and our team, and join a collaborative effort to raise the quality of the entire experience we deliver to the players.


Responsibilities:

  • A project built using SOLID principles and the ECS architectural pattern.
  • A robust network solution built from the ground up for a MOBA that can support 5+ players and 100+ units in a multitude of perhaps procedural generated environments.
  • Integrate systems that fosters friendship between players.
  • Cross platform support including platforms like iOS, Android, Xbox, PS, PC and cloud gaming services like Stadia.
  • Contribute to the development and discussions surrounding overall system architecture.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years industry experience.
  • Excellent software design, problem solving and debugging skills.
  • Experience with Unity3D.
  • Strong established skill with the C# language including experience using unsafe code.
  • Passion and drive to improve all facets of the game and unlock potential within the team.
  • Able to communicate & collaborate effectively with artists, designers, and other engineers.
  • Familiarity with how to build networking games.

  • Own and execute marketing initiatives with a focus on the early marketing funnel using branding, PR and partners

Senior UX/UI Designer

Copenhagen, Denmark - Full-Time, onsite / hybrid remote

Join us on the journey to friendship the world through cooperative games! We are a small Copenhagen studio with big dreams, have been in the business for 10 years, and now are looking for someone to level up UX/UI capability on our newest biggest and the most ambitious production ever. Our new game is a cross-platform cooperative GaaS title aiming to define a new subgenre - a great opportunity to apply your pro skills and to invent something new and exciting along the way.


Job Description

We expect you to be well-versed in research and designing complex user flows, and also to be capable of implementing the UI side of your designs in Unity. You have to be an MMO/MOBA player yourself, and have a keen eye for the genres evolution with them going mobile in recent years. You will contribute to the full cycle of UX/UI work for an innovative cooperative game that is set out to be the ultimate friend-making machine. You will report to the Lead Game Designer (all designers on the team report to the same person).

Our ideal candidate is self-reliant and flexible - somebody who wants to do their best work and make an impact in an exciting company, and help to foster a culture of design thinking.


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams of designers, engineers, and artists on creating the best UX/UI solutions for our creative vision: from setting design goals to creating wireframes and aesthetic designs, to implementing UI un Unity
  • Analyze designs, give feedback and contribute from UX/UI perspective
  • Research existing solutions in the market and study our player community needs and preferences to inform our designs
  • Propose and effectively communicate designs to the production team through wireframes, interactive prototypes, and documentation
  • Develop, conduct and analyze playtests, surveys and focus groups to inform iterations
  • Implement GUI in Unity and be responsible for UX improvements
  • Identify and execute on opportunities for UX/UI workflow improvement

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of industry experience in UX/UI design roles
  • A few past releases under your belt, ideally live games that you have supported after the launch. At least one of them should be a cross-platform title
  • Experience working with design systems (and creating them); we use Figma, Miro, Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop. We would expect to see a relevant portfolio
  • Strong UX research skills with real cases to demonstrate them
  • Good knowledge of Unity and experience implementing UI elements in it
  • Fluent in English

Head of Production

Copenhagen, Denmark - Full-Time, hybrid remote/remote

Join us on the journey to friendship the world through cooperative games! We are a small Copenhagen studio with big dreams, have been in the business for 10 years, and now are looking for a highly experienced production leader to level up our development approach.


Job Description

You will join the studio leadership team as a person in charge of organizing production of our live and new games. You will be responsible for resource planning, process design and improvement, production risks mitigation, and mentoring other production leaders in their roles. You are an expert on building happy, productive and scalable game teams. You can level us up with your experience of solving practical issues in growing production teams, and your capability to identify critical decisions in planning and foreseeing their far-reaching consequences.


Responsibilities:

  • Organize production in our new game and support the live game leadership with your expertise and foresight
  • Set the team up for growth: partner up with other leaders to foster the culture and process that allow for increasing our production bandwidth in a sustainable manner
  • Upgrade the way we plan and prioritize for a perfect balance between very ambitious strategic goals and reasonably predictable tactical deliveries
  • Develop, maintain and publish project KPIs that track project delivery, quality and predictability
  • Choose and implement the right mix of in-house expertise and outsourced solutions to handle the areas of production with uneven workload over time (like quality assurance)
  • Ensure best in class continuous delivery practices to allow for a frictionless process of testing the new functionality with players
  • Define roles and responsibilities in production leadership roles, and groom and hire individuals to fill these roles as needed
  • Create and maintain the communication structure (meetings, reports, etc.) to keep all relevant stakeholders in the loop of production plans, progress and challenges
  • Ensure psychological safety, healthy feedback culture and conflict management within and between teams
  • Identify and execute other initiatives to improve happiness and productivity in our game teams

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of development experience in the software industry
  • Shipped and supported multiple GaaS titles on PC in a production leadership role with an individual accountability for the delivery KPIs, from pre-production to at least one year since launch
  • Broad expertise in production with ability to lead and coordinate the process at all stages
  • Strong people management skills with a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams of 30 to 80 people of varied seniority levels
  • Master communicator across all levels of organization, ability to deeply understand the needs of stakeholders and negotiate the best way forward accordingly

Pluses:

  • Passion for cooperative video games with hundreds (or better, thousands) of hours in various titles
  • Experience with shipping a truly cross-platform game (cross-play across PC, mobile, and consoles), or experience adapting a title across multiple platforms without cross-play
